Suwanee Dental Care and Gwinnett Gladiators Team Up With Students To Reward Achievement
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have introduced The “S.L.A.P.” Shots (Students Learn And Prepare) Program to help motivate and reward students for their hard work and excellence in school.
“One of our missions as the local professional sports team is to make the Gladiators an integral part of the community,” said Gladiators General Manager Steve Chapman. “Children are our future and The S.L.A.P Shots Program is just one of the many ways we plan to create a presence in Gwinnett and surrounding communities.”
The S.L.A.P Shots Program is comprised of three motivational school programs; Hat Trick for Reading, Honor Roll and Teacher Appreciation Awards. The Suwanee Dental Care team will be the sponsor of the Hat Trick for Reading portion of the S.L.A.P. program.
The Hat Trick for Reading program is designed to help stimulate interest in reading in area elementary and middle schools. Students will score a “Hat Trick” and earn up to two Gladiators ticket vouchers, one for each set of three approved books that they read during the school year.
The Gladiators S.L.A.P. Shots Honor Roll Program will reward and recognize students for their overall academic achievement throughout the school year. Students at participating elementary, middle and high schools will receive a Gladiators ticket Voucher for achieving the Honor Roll during a specific grading period.
The Teacher Appreciation Awards recognizes the hard work and excellence of Gwinnett County and surrounding area teachers who have gone “above and beyond” for their students.
“The three programs are designed to compliment each other,” said Chapman, “and give students in any grade and opportunity to be rewarded for the hard work they do all year.”
Area elementary, middle and high schools interested in participation in the S.L.A.P. Shots Program are encouraged to contact Gladiators Director of Community Relations Jim Hall at 770-497-5109 or by e-mail at jhall@gwinnettgladiators.com for more information.
The Gwinnett Gladiators begin their first season at the brand new state-of-the-art Arena at Gwinnett Center on October 24th vs. the Augusta Lynx. Call (770)-497-5100 and get your season tickets today.
